D. Bernard Webster is a prototypical renaissance man whose career is as broad and colorful as his expertise. In his early years he was an accomplished artist pursuing his Doctorate in Education by the age of 24. He later suspended his studies to become a teacher in the high needs communities of the South Bronx and Brownsville Brooklyn. Eventually taking root in that community for several years, Webster as a not-for-profit administrator raising more than $3.5million in corporate/state funds and eventually receiving (2) Congressional TEC Champion Awards for Pioneering Technology in Urban Communities.
Several years later he ventured out as a first-time entrepreneur raising $250,000 in private equity to launch a digital marketing agency. After the market crash of 2008 he regrouped and began teaching students in NYC public schools how to innovate and launch new business, eventually training more than 10,000 entrepreneurs. This work led to his launching (2) education consulting firms with his wife that hold several City contracts with multiple Agencies. Today he is the Executive Director at the Center for Entrepreneurial Studies at the New York Institute of Technology’s School of Management. He is also Managing Partner of an SBA-funded Accelerator Program supporting women and minority technology founders. D. Bernard is deeply passionate about his family and community and believes in sharing knowledge and empowering both youth and adults to an empowered future.
